The estate has a rich history marked by several transitions of ownership. The estate was created by an Irishman Ciaran O’Hara who was a companion of Captain Young (the founder of Landour and Mussoorie) in 1830. The estate was passed on to Thomas Scully esq. who sold the estate to Trevor Overend. In 1903, Lieutenant Stanley Skinner of Hansi purchased the property, which was later acquired by W.A. Gordon in 1904. The Gordons sold the estate to His Highness Ullah Khan of Bhopal who is turn sold the estate to Her Highness Urmilla Devi, the Maharani Sahiba of Nabha on 20th August 1949.
